District Data publishes open procurement notices that are already public record. We collect very little about you: an account only if you create one, and aggregate analytics about how the site is used.
Who we are
District Data LLC ("we," "us") operates bids.districtdata.co, a public listing of open procurement bids. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit the site, why we collect it, and what choices you have.
The bid records themselves — titles, agencies, dates, categories, and links — come from public sources and do not contain personal information about site visitors.
Information we collect
Information you give us
If you create an account, our authentication provider (WorkOS) collects your email address, your name if you provide one, and the sign-in method you choose. If you sign in with a third-party provider such as Google, we receive basic profile information from that provider. We do not store passwords ourselves.
Information collected automatically
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used in aggregate. It collects information such as the pages you view, how long you stay, referring links, your device and browser type, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. Google Analytics does not retain your full IP address, and we do not use it to identify individual visitors.
Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs (IP address, request time, requested URL, user agent) for security and reliability purposes.
How we use this information
- To operate the site and keep you signed in to your account
- To understand which bids and features people find useful
- To diagnose errors, monitor performance, and prevent abuse
- To respond when you contact us
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or share it with advertisers.
Opting out of analytics
You can turn off Google Analytics across all sites by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Blocking analytics cookies in your browser or using a content blocker also works. Nothing on the site stops working if you do.
How long we keep it
Account information is kept for as long as your account exists. Analytics data is retained by Google for a limited period and then deleted automatically. Server logs are kept for a short period for security purposes.
Your choices and rights
You can view and update your profile, sign-in methods, and active sessions from your account settings. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to request a copy of your personal information, correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us at [email protected] and we will respond within the time your local law requires.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and authentication is handled by a dedicated provider so that we never store your credentials. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect the information we hold.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change, and we will move the "last updated" date at the top. Significant changes will be announced on the site.
